NIU Kung Fu Movie Night, Motivation and Fun!

Our first Kung Fu Movie Night has been super successful!  Everyone enjoyed the movie and loved "Just Dance" contest after the movie(the dancing game was not planned at all), it turned out to be a great party.  The kung fu movie we played was "Tai Chi Master", I can see the motivation from it at the sparring/self-defense class the next day. It is a great event to motivate our students while having lots of fun!

Can you name the people in the pictures?  In my mind, Kenton is number one in "Just Dance", he got the move!

NIU Students Reached High Achievement at International Tournaments

NIU武術學院 - 2013年武術比賽成果:

Congratulations!

NIU have completed two tournaments in May last year. They were:

Walking Tall Wushu Kung Fu Tournament, Costa Mesa, CA

Especially at the LA International Wushu Tournament, there were approximately 200 competitors participating in the event, and our students have won a total of 33 medals! Our students have worked very hard for these tournaments since the Sash test in April; they learned and gained so much from this precious experience that all of our hard work has paid off!

I have not yet collected enough details from the "Walking Tall Tournament"; as soon as I receive sufficient information, I will update this page.

Fall 2012 NIU Level Verification Test

Fall NIU Level Verification Test was held on 11/03/2012, our children did a wonderful job!  It was exciting to see them putting so much effort and spirit into their movements. You guys were great, as I said after the test, "I am so proud of you all, and I feel honored and appreciated to be your teacher!".  Great job, kids!

Here is something I want to share with you, it is from one of our guest judges - coach Saki Hsu...

"... 如果說練武術有什麼必要的核心的話,我相信"專注"絕對是首要。其他力量啦,速度啦,詮釋度啦,技巧啦,雖然也很重要,但要是少了專注投入這一項,那就像少了靈魂一樣了。因此在這幾小時內,能看到十幾歲(有些同學甚至連十歲都不到)的小朋友展現出自己的武魂,真的是非常難忘的事。"
"If practicing martial arts has a required core, I believe that the "focus" is definitely the first and foremost. Although other elements, such as power, speed, performance and interpretations, skills matter, are also important, but without being focus, everything will be like soul-less. Therefore, within a few hours during the test, observing children at NIU showing their wu-hun(wushu spirit), really truly memorable."
